BFGoodrich Dealer in Dakar

The last six winners of the Dakar Rally have claimed victory on BFGoodrich tyres. The manufacturer now has a special BFGoodrich team competing in next year’s event and wanted to offer tyre dealers the opportunity to win a place in the driving seat. And so the Adventure Raid was born.

The pre-rally challenge was set to identify the best driver for the Dakar event and tested dealers’ motoring skills as well as their navigational ability, mechanical skills and also fitness.

Andy Sargeant from AJS 4×4 won the event played out in the French Alps and will now compete in the 2006 Dakar Rally – which starts in Lisbon on 31st December and passes through Morocco, Mauritania, Mali and Guinea, before, for the successful minority of drivers, reaching its climax at Dakar in Senegal on 15th January 2006.

“The Dakar Rally is the ultimate test of driving skill, vehicles and tyres. The BFGoodrich Adventure Raid provided a great opportunity to showcase the performance of our tyres, while at the same time providing a fantastic chance for one UK dealer to participate in this historic, cross-country driving adventure,” commented BFGoodrich brand manager Dominic Clark.
