Amerityre Appoints New Chief Operating Officer
(Akron/Tire Review) Gary N Benninger, PhD has been appointed chief operating officer at Amerityre Corp, effective 16 October. Previously, Benninger was director of technology development at auto parts supplier Magna International Inc. and its affiliate MEC. He was responsible for identifying new technologies and managing product launches.
From 1998 to 1999, Benninger served as chief operating officer of North American operations for Becker Group, an automotive interior systems supplier. Prior to joining Becker, he was executive vice president of engineering and R&D at Magna and division general manager and vice president of product development.
Benninger has also worked for Ford Motor Co as an engineering manager and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a research scientist.
“We are pleased to have someone with Gary’s knowledge and experience joining our management team,” said Richard Steinke, president and chairman of Amerityre. “Gary’s experience in bringing emerging technologies to market is going to be key to successfully commercialising Amerityre’s technology.”
