Vredestein Increase Mould Process Efficiency
(Akron/Tire Review) Vredestein Banden has engaged UK software developer INCAT to help it reduce tooling costs, including a significant 50 per cent drop in the amount of time necessary to produce tyre moulds.
Vredestein attributes the improvements it has already seen to INCAT’s expertise in working methodology and process development, along with the introduction of a new 3D software application.
“It was very clear to us that our old way of working – within a 2D environment – negatively influenced our competitive position. We, therefore, were seeking a reliable partner who fully understood our problems and possessed specific and extensive expertise to guide us to a better and faster way of working. In INCAT, we have found that partner,” said Robert Gerritsen, Vredestein’s senior mold project engineer.
The move came after a pilot programme by INCAT showed “immediate cost and timesavings to Vredestein,” said INCAT officials.
