Vellco Nominated for Business Award
Vellco has been short listed as one of three finalists by the York Evening Press as Environmental Business of the Year and will shortly be visited by an independent judging assessor at their headquarters in Weaverthorpe, North Yorkshire. The winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony at the Voltigeur Suite at York racecourse on 17 November.
John Campbell, Vellco’s business development director said: “To be short listed as finalists is a fantastic testament to all the hard work and dedication put in by the entire Vellco team. It is also extremely encouraging to see environmental issues taking centre stage in such a prestigious business awards event.”
The announcement follows the expansion of Vellco’s transport fleet in the early stages of the summer. This included the purchase of three new vehicles including the Renault Magnum 440 Double Sleeper cab trucks. Dave Hollis, Vellco’s transport manager, pointed out that the company now has in excess of 20 vehicles and 25 trailers on the road. The primary objective for the future is to replace existing fleet vehicles with these new Renault trucks by the end of this year, the company added.
