Van den Ban: Flexible Distribution Service
Dutch wholesaler, Van den Ban, has announced that it will add a new exclusive brand to its tyre portfolio. The new brand, Clear, is already available in a number of sizes. Van den Ban says it intends to introduce further sizes in the coming months ultimately leading to 30-size strong high performance portfolio. A further range expansion is planned for next year.
The company sees the latest addition as a sign of the growing significance of its range, which includes 15 to 20 inch sizes and aspect ratios from 55 to 30 series. According to Van den Ban, the Clear tyre presents a modern V profile.
Managing director, Frans P van Lenten, commented: “With these new developments, Van den Ban is once again able to illustrate its versatility and strength as a leading tyre wholesaler and our total dedication to perfection means we can offer ultimate reliability as total tyre suppliers with the right service level at really competitive prices.”
Flexibility
According to Van den Ban, the company’s success, which has enabled the company to become a popular choice as an important partner within the UK and European tyre industries, can be directly attributed to their commitment as a total tyre supplier in leading ‘A’ brands, private labels and exclusive brands. The central warehouse facilities in Hellevoetsluis are able to stock in excess of approximately 700,000 tyres covering the passenger, high performance, 4×4 and light commercial sectors of the market therefore offering a comprehensive choice of major brands such as Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Dunlop, Firestone and Uniroyal.
Van den Ban is also proud of its successful private labels – Flamingo and Novex. Launched over 25 years ago, the Flamingo label, which is produced by Continental according to an official statement, has been a particularly successful sales venture for the company and the range was upgraded last year with three new patterns due to be introduced.
“The Flamingo is a respected quality tyre that is known for its comfortable handling and long tread life span,” adds Frans P Van Lenten.
Although not a main focus in the UK, Van den Ban also provides what it describes as “a very extensive winter tyre programme” incorporating A brands, Flamingo Alaska winter tyre and the Himalaya WS1 pattern of their exclusive brand Federal.
Van den Ban also offers a complete range of Federal tyres which are said to be manufactured in modern production plants both in Taiwan and China with over 200 sizes and patterns available. This includes the Federal Himalaya WS1 with impressive V shaped longitudinal grooves to help resist aquaplaning and zig-zag sipes for excellent grip in snow, ice and wet roads.
Other interesting news from Federal includes the fact that in the near future the MS321 pattern will be rebranded as Ecovan and complimented by an extension of the size range. Federal reportedly prides itself on introducing new sizes on a regular basis with the perfect example being the Couragia pattern which is now available in twelve sizes ranging from 70 to 55 series. At the same time the ultra modern SS 595 tread pattern range has recently been increased to 20 inch size.
