Michelin Exelagri
Michelin has launched a new “added-value dealer programme” called Exelagri that will ensure its customers benefit from improved efficiency, service and technical expertise.
The Exelagri programme will enable Michelin to build a network of the best agricultural tyre specialists in the UK and Europe. This in turn will impact on end-users with improved service levels and access to technical information on premium Michelin Group products (Michelin and Kleber).
Selected dealers have to commit to a number of criteria to be accepted onto the programme. These include minimum levels of training for staff, offering a fitting and breakdown service on the farm, providing free quotations, undertake tyre repairs, have at least one breakdown van, and offer a delivery service within a 25 mile radius of the depot.
The first 11 Exelagri dealers which have been announced in the UK span the length of the country from Dingwall Tyres in Scotland to Totnes Tyres in Devon, with more destined to join the plan during 2005 and early 2006.
Commenting on the programme, Rob Beddis, Michelin’s commercial director of agriculture says: “One of the objectives of the scheme is to help raise the levels of professionalism in the agricultural tyre industry. This will be made possible by the training standards attained by Exelagri dealers and agreeing minimum service levels. This new programme will benefit the dealers through joint marketing initiatives, and the farmers and contractors through improved service levels and better quality technical advice.”
Michelin expects to appoint around 30 Exelagri dealers in total which will offer comprehensive coverage throughout the UK and Ireland by Summer 2006.
