Drivers Offers Free Check-up During Scottish Tyre Safety Week
Drivers, the Glasgow-based car enhancement company, is offering customers a free tyre check-up for the duration of the Scottish Tyre Safety Week, which runs from 7 – 11 November 2005.
Whilst most drivers are aware of the importance of looking after their tyres, fewer are aware that specially fitted performance tyres can enhance both the safety and performance of their cars.
Drivers fits tyres using the latest Butler F1 machines and always wheels using the Haweka centring system. In response to the End of Life Vehicle Directive, which banned lead weights Drivers now uses ‘tin alloy’ weights to avoid environmental contamination.
“Tyres are inflated with a Butler Nitrogen system, which removes ‘wet’ gases from compressed air, leaving high nitrogen content and limiting expansion and contraction with changes in temperature. That leads to a better grip, better performance and enhanced safety.”

The Scottish Tyre Safety Week, an initiative of The Tyre Industry Council, a not-for-profit, non-commercial body, will also include a police enforcement initiative.
