Continental AG Considers Stock Split
Continental AG is mulling over the possibility of a stock split after its shares grew more than fivefold since the spring of 2003, according to an article published in Die Welt, citing chief executive Manfred Wennemer.
“A stock split is currently not on the agenda,” Wennemer told the newspaper in an interview. “But it is a topic that we will look into.” He also said the German automotive supplier is looking into possible acquisitions for its ContiTech and Electronics units in Asia and North America and for its tyre business in India and China.
Wennemer reaffirmed the company sees full year sales and net profit above last year’s results. “We did not see any noteworthy diversion on the upside or the downside in the first eight months of this year,” he said.
