Steel Monolith Strengthens Cats
ArvinMeritor have introduced a steel monolith into the construction of their competitively priced range of EuroCat replacement catalytic converters.
ArvinMeritor’s Catalytic Converter Sales Development Manager, Ian Hesp, said “We are responding to the needs of the garage trade who are crying out for a more robust product. It’s become increasingly clear that ordinary catalysts, using a standard ceramic monolith, are fragile.
“The function and location of the catalytic converter expose it to both thermal and physical extremes. Under these conditions, the conventional ceramic type catalytic converter can prove vulnerable to early in-service failure and result in dissatisfied users, installers and suppliers.
“Our more robust steel monolith offers many benefits which include quicker ‘light-off’ (the temperature at which the catalysts starts to function); thinner cell walls (providing reduced back pressure and improved fuel efficiency) plus higher impact and thermal damage resistance (resulting in longer service life)”
Branded EuroCat STEEL, ArvinMeritor has begun a comprehensive advertising and promotional campaign to support the introduction of the steel monolith into the product. By using eye-catching visual imagery with a strong message, the Company aims to increase the awareness of the real benefits that can be gained by fitting a EuroCat Steel replacement catalytic converter.
