Goodyear Sells Plantation to Bridgestone
Goodyear is confident that the deal will not significantly affect the company’s ability to source natural rubber for its tyre manufacturing operations.
The sale was originally announced some months ago and, in the fourth quarter of last year, Goodyear recorded an after-tax charge of $15.6 million (eight cents a share), attributable mainly to the write-off of currency translation in connection with the deal.
