Euro Car Parts Launches Aftermarket Training Academy
Euro Car Parts has launched what it claims is the first aftermarket training academy of its kind to deliver Government-approved training to its sales team trainees. The new training centre, Euro Academy, has been established to ensure Euro Car Parts’ specialised sales teams continue to have the most comprehensive knowledge bank throughout the industry.
The academy’s first 32 young people will begin the three-year Level 3 NVQ Apprenticeship in Parts Operations, which gives 16 to 24 year olds the opportunity to develop their knowledge to the most advanced levels in the UK aftermarket. The apprenticeship will be awarded by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), which is the leading awarding body for vocational qualifications in the automotive sector and the industry’s professional association.
The required training will be delivered by Assa Training and Learning, a Government-approved Grade One training provider and an IMI approved assessment centre. The programme will be delivered regionally to ensure Euro Car Parts’ 35 nationwide branches have full access to the scheme and are able to benefit from the knowledge training on offer.
Mark Wardell, group marketing manager at Euro Car Parts said: “This is a development programme which will set the standard for the UK aftermarket. Euro Academy will produce a national workforce with the most in-depth knowledge of aftermarket car parts and accessories in the UK, and the people who’ll benefit most are our customers.”
According to the company, the increasing complexity of modern cars means “a vehicle technician is just as likely to carry a laptop as a socket set.” And in order to match the modern technical expertise of garages, the parts industry needs to have the same level of technical knowledge and Euro Academy will ensure Euro Car Parts continues to remain at the forefront of aftermarket part sales throughout the UK.
“The programme is specifically designed to address the key areas of staff development and ranges from vital induction training through to automotive technology and systems knowledge to effective selling skills,” Mark Wardell continued.
Euro Car Parts is also planning to introduce the ILM certified management development programme to enable all its branch managers the opportunity to build their management skills with a recognised qualification in mind.
Commenting on the launch Sukphal Singh, managing director of Euro Car Parts said: “Our excellence has already been recognised with the award of Independent Parts Supplier of the Year by the ITM but we are not resting on our laurels.
“With Euro Academy, we are continuing to set the benchmark of aftermarket part supply in the UK and make sure we provide the best service available.
“The is an investment in our people who have made Euro Car Parts the UK aftermarket leader and who, with Euro Academy training, will drive the company forward in product knowledge, delivery and growth.”
