Awards For Truck Point Dealers
Four members of Truck Point, the network of independent truck tyre dealers, won awards at the first-ever Truck Point conference. The awards were made by major customers that use the tyres and services on offer from Bridgestone and the Truck Point network.
Chris Deevey, head of purchasing for Ryder Europe, presented the Ryder award to Glyn Cainey, of Dexel Tyres, saying that the company had exhibited levels of service “second to none” and had been pro-active in reducing Ryder’s costs and downtime.
Award number two was presented by Phil Brown, from 3663, the food distribution logistics company that operates over 700 trucks. It was given to Winchester-based Tructyre, whose MD Glen Sherwood accepted it on behalf of his team.
Steve Cooke, engineering director from Ainscough Crane Hire Ltd., presented their customer service award to Michael stringer, of Tyre & Exhaust, Morley, for “exceptional service and commitment.”
The final award was given by John Parry, of Exel, for Tradeteam, the Exel company that is the UK’s largest independent drinks logistics provider. The recipient was Barry Lindsey, owner of Tyrewise, from Liverpool, who dedicated the award to all his staff.
All in all, the annual conference was voted a great success and Greg Ward, commercial sales director for Bridgestone UK, said that the awards clearly showed that large blue-chip fleets valued and recognised the service provided by the Truck Point network.
