Varta Streamlines Blue Dynamic Range

Varta has embarked on a programme to enhance its premium Blue Dynamic range of replacement batteries, giving it virtually complete coverage of the UK car parc.

The company is phasing in new, improved products to plug gaps in aftermarket coverage with calcium-silver technology batteries, which are now standard fitment by most European and Japanese vehicle manufacturers.
The new range is both OE and aftermarket driven, as Varta claims a 50 per cent share of the European OE market – a position of dominance that is also reflected in the aftermarket.

Varta’s enhanced Blue Dynamic range now covers 90 per cent of the market and, with the recently-launched Varta ASIA Dynamic battery range, the coverage of the UK car parc rises to 99 per cent.

Several consolidations have been made, reducing stocking complexity for distributors. Within the new line up, just four types of battery cover 80 per cent of UK cars and the batteries are supplied – filled and charged, with a shelf life of 18 months – to a UK network of more than 300 agents.

In addition to a rationalised range, the new batteries come with an improved design, higher capacity and cold cranking, plus magic eye battery condition indicators on higher spec types.
