New Bandag Dealers In Egypt and Romania
Cairo-based Internile for Tyres Ltd and HL & H Prod Com SRL have joined Bandag’s retreader network, along with Internile Tyres, Egypt
Bucharest-based HL & H Prod Com SRL recently went into business operating as a joint venture between two experienced specialists from the Israeli tyre sector. Since then, the Bucharest public bus company Filaret has reportedly been full of praise for Bandag retreaded tyres. Filaret actually bought its retreads from Hatzav, the Israeli parent company of Bandag Dealer TGL (Aviation) Rubber Company, in Acre, Israel.
This company also specialises in aircraft tyre retreading. Hatzav and Horn & Leibovitz Ltd, a leading Israeli bus company, joined forces to establish HL&H Prod Com SRL as a joint-venture Bandag dealership in Bucharest.
The new company is managed by Mr Zvi Barash, who is also the general manager of Bandag Dealer TGL in Israel, and Mr Zvi Nachshon, who has decades of international experience in the tyre business.
“Within a few weeks of opening the business in Bucharest, several new fleets had already become customers, including Pepsi Cola Romania, which operates about 400 trucks,” said Mr Nachshon
Preparing for EU membership, HL & H Prod Com also plans to become a member of Bandag’s Eurofleet Tyres & Services in the near future. According to the franchiser, this membership is designed to act as an additional guarantee that customer fleets receive exactly the same level of quality services and products wherever their trucks are travelling in Europe.
Meanwhile in Egypt, Internile general manager, Mr Haseeb Alico, recently decided to launch the country’s very first Bandag dealership. He took the decision after recognising that since the government began deregulating the economy in the early 1990s, Egypt’s road network has developed at a rapid rate. Now 90 per cent of goods are transported by road in Egypt creating strong demands for retreaded tyres.
Mr Alico reports that he is well aware of how much of a headache tyres can be for Egyptian haulage companies and so he decided to offer the premium Bandag retreading option as opposed to the ever-present low-cost alternative. Since starting as a Bandag dealer in Marhc, Mr Alico has already been contacted by major domestic and foreign companies, including Cairo Bus, Exxon and Mobil, with a view to establishing a working relationship.
Bandag’s extensive network of Dealers retreads some 20 million tyres a year around the world.
