Introducing Monbat
Monbat may not be a well known brand in the UK at the moment but according to the company all that is about to change. The brand has been driving sales across Europe and having signed a contract with Squadron Batteries earlier this year the UK is Monbat’s next target.
Partly owned by Texaco Chevron, Monbat has been manufacturing batteries for over 45 years. The company specialises in heavy duty, high specification batteries for rail and military applications, as well as manufacturing UPS batteries for the telecom industry. Its car and commercial vehicle batteries are produced in the same manufacturing facility and to the same quality standards says the battery manufacturer.
“We needed a car and commercial battery range that had the quality and stature to really make a difference in an already busy UK market” explains Stuart James, chief executive of Squadron Battery Co. Ltd. “MONBAT has been a great find and everything our customers were asking for, which was high quality, durability, reliability, latest technology, stock availability and very keen prices of course.”
The automotive range includes the Monbat Dynamic and the Monbat Maintenance Free series. The Dynamic is a calcium hybrid battery guaranteed for three years. It covers 99 per cent of the car parc.
The Monbat Maintenance Free, as the name suggests, requires no maintenance (no water top ups) and offers 30 per cent more power and cranking ability from its special alloy construction and plate active material says Squadron. This battery is guaranteed for four years.
Squadron will also be distributing Monbat’s Heavy Duty and Super Heavy Duty commercial vehicle battery range. The Monolith Power, a semi-traction product for ultra heavy duty CV, coach, taxi, plant and marine applications completes the Monbat series.
