First TIC Product Endorsement

The Tyre Industry Council is to endorse tyre safety related products and services. The first such endorsement is an aftermarket product, allowing the motorist to monitor the pressure in his spare tyre and inflate it easily, if required.

Called “Air In Your Spare”, the product is marketed by hydraulics and fittings specialists Pirtek and is a flexible connector, permanently attached to the spare, allowing pressure measurement and topping up from a conventional air line without removing the tyre.

The “Air In Your Spare” product will be made available via a website and some yet-to-be-determined retailers and will retail at less than £20 plus VAT.
