Patrick O’Connell Becomes RMA Chairman

The Retread Manufacturers Association has appointed Patrick O’Connell, of Bandvulc as the Association’s chairman, effective from 8 June. He succeeds Gary Oliver of C-Tyres, who has stepped down after two years in office.

RMA director David Wilson said: “We welcome the appointment of Patrick O’Connell as our new chairman and I look forward to working with him over the course of the coming two years. I would also like to thank Gary Oliver for his valued efforts during his term of office.”

As well as a new chairman, there have been a number of structural changes within the association, with the RMA Council having been replaced by a board, which will be responsible for the management and control of the association. Reporting to the board are two management committees dealing with technical and marketing issues respectively.

Those elected to the Board in addition to the chairman and director are: Alan Bithell (Rema Tip Top), David Gray (Bulldog), Tim Hercock (Vaculug), Lynn Kerr (Adco Distributors), Gary Oliver (C-Tyres) and Ian Smith (Technic).
