Modern Tyre Celebrates 40 Years
Goodyear UK’s MD Dick Johnston recently paid a visit to Ireland’s Modern Tyre Service to congratulate directors and staff on their 40th anniversary.
Having started in 1965 the company now operates through two headquarters based in Newry and Enniskillen. Following extensive investment, and the acquisition of several new depots, Modern Tyre now has a total of 26 branches making it the largest independent tyre retailer in Northern Ireland. The company services the private, fleet and wholesale markets with all major brands of tyres as well as batteries, exhausts and alloy wheels.
The Modern Tyre Group uses HI-Q signage on each of its depots and is one of the network’s 500 UK specialists.
Speaking about the visit Charles Corscadden group general manager said: “It’s a testament to the hard working management and staff to reach this milestone in business and to be congratulated with this visit cements the strong links that exist between both organisations. We look forward to developing future plans with Goodyear that will see Modern Tyres progress over the next 40 years.”
