Michelin Gains Replacement Spot For Dreamliner
(Akron/Tire Review) Michelin has been tapped as the second source for replacement tyres for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Michelin will offer a combination of traditional radial tyres and new lightweight “near zero growth” (NZG) construction tyres, which, according to the companies, offer increased resistance to cuts and wear. Each 787 will use 10 tyres – two on the nose landing gear and eight on the main landing gear. The 787 Dreamliner has three configurations with the capacity to carry between 223 to 296 passengers.
