Formula One Autocentres Opts for MAM Software
MAM Software has announced that it has completed the successful installation and commissioning of a new Autopart business management system at independent tyre retail chain Formula One Autocentres. The new system is now fully operational and is being productively used in all 37 Formula One stores across the South, South East and the Midlands.
The installation of this new Autopart software has given Formula One Autocentres a fully integrated system capable of supporting their fast-fit, servicing and MoT business. The system links over 100 users with a central database at the company’s head office in Stevenage. Using dedicated communication technology developed by MAM, it enables Formula One to maintain data centrally and pool statistics from each of its 37 branches. It also provides the ability to transfer stock between branches whenever required.
Formula One Autocentres is running the latest version of Autopart, which incorporates new features designed specifically to meet the needs of the fast-fit industry. Facilities for job card creation, diary management and service history recording have been combined with comprehensive stock control, purchase ordering and accounting back-office features to create a fully-integrated, user-friendly environment. Included in the software are interfaces for tyre retailing that enable staff to quickly identify tyres by their size, irrespective of their part number. This simplifies price and stock enquiries, thereby accelerating invoice and quote production.
Mike Jamieson, Managing Director of MAM Software, said: “We are delighted that Formula One has chosen our software to drive its business forward. We have worked hard over the past 18 months to develop an application that meets the specific requirements of the fast-fit industry. Formula One’s support for Autopart is a validation of our diversification strategy and testimony to our research and development efforts.”
