Federal Launches “Federal Motorsport”
Federal Corporation held its annual shareholder meeting in Chungli, Taiwan last week announcing the launch of “Federal Motorsport.” The manufacturer’s new tyre lines, are a result of “years of intense research and testing by Federal Technical Center (FTC),” said Jamie Ma, president of Federal Tire.
Two distinct series’ will make up Federal Motorsport – the street-legal 595 Competition Series and the exclusive, limited production FZ Combat Series for professional circuit use.
The 595 Competition Series will feature Federal’s former ss595, renamed the 595. According to the manufacturer slight technical changes have been made by FTC to the UHP tyre to suit the series and to further withstand the abuse of drifting competition. The new 595 Evo street competition UHP tyre is also part of this group. The tyre combines “the best performance features of the former ss595 with sophisticated technological advances such as a new 3-D tread design, ‘groove within a groove’ technology,” explains the manufacturer.
Another new addition, the semi-slick, sport competition 595RS will be launched. Designed for “exceptional traction and grip” the tyre offers the “best performance in its class” – a street legal competition tyre with the characteristics of a slick.
FZ-101 is Federal’s new limited production racing profile, slick tyre. Using the latest material and compound, combined with an extremely wide contact area and sidewalls reinforced with steel fillers, the FZ-101 is engineered for professional use only.
The FZ-102 features a new tread block design to increase stiffness and ensure constant contact with road surface. The tread profile has been specifically designed to deliver performance in straight line sprints and high speed cornering.
