Still Time for Fulda Challenge Applications
Have you ever considered tackling a 48 kilometre mountain bike ride and a half-marathon in Arctic temperatures? Could you climb a 30m-high ice wall, endure 30 kilometres of cross-country skiing, and navigate a team of huskies through alpine woodland in temperatures as low as –45 degrees celcius? Men and women from around the UK are prepared to give it a go as they apply to be part of the 2006 Fulda Challenge team.
The deadline for applications is 6 June 2005 and budding adventurers – male and female – are still being encouraged to apply. Marcus White, Brand Manager for Fulda UK said: “The standard of applicants this year has definitely improved. We already have a great mix of people to choose from. However, there are still a few days for people who would like to be considered and submit an application and stand a chance of representing the UK.”
Short-listed applicants (10 men and 10 women) will be invited to compete in the UK selection event over the weekend of 18-19 June 2005. Fully trained PT Instructors will put the hopefuls through their paces at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines at Lympstone in Devon. Up to five men and five women will then be selected to compete in the European elimination event, which takes place in Sulden, Italy between 29 September and 2 October 2005. Here the UK team will be chosen to compete in the Fulda Tyres Challenge, which takes place in late January/early February 2006.
