Reality TV Comes to the Garage

British garage technicians are being offered the chance to star in a television series being made in Spain. ‘The Garage’ will follow the progress of an independent garage set in the expatriate community on the south coast of Spain. Endemol UK, the production company involved, was responsible for the highly successful ‘fly-on-the-wall’ series about a hairdressing and beauty operation, ‘The Salon’.

Endemol is currently looking to recruit a variety of garage personnel, including mechanics, receptionists and office staff. All ages and levels can apply from management to trainee. Endemol has also said that it will be looking for people with additional passions such as customising and restoration.

Many ‘expats’ have their own businesses, albeit not in the motor trade, and this series may indicate possibilities ‘for people with a fantasy.’ On a more basic level it is also intended to provide useful information about car servicing and repair.
