Treadways’ Dan Wire to Retire
(Akron/Tire Review) Dan Wire, well-known CEO and chairman of Treadways Corp, has announced that he will retire in early 2006. Mr Wire, who said he will remain as an advisor/consultant to Sumitomo Corporation of America and Treadways until April 2008, will retire effective at the end of Treadways’ next financial year on 31 March 2006.
According to Mr Wire, Treadways reached record sales and profits in each of the last three years and, based on a record first quarter in 2005, “is well on its way to a fourth straight record year.”
Earlier this month, Treadways announced a major reorganisation, but Mr Wire said those changes were unconnected to his retirement. In the reorganisation, Lyle Symonds was named senior vice president of private brand sales, and will oversee the company’s Laramie, Eldorado, Jetzon and Telstar divisions. Reporting to him will be Chris Dickson, the new vice president of sales and marketing for Eldorado tyre brand; and Bob Klimm, who was named vice president of sales and marketing for Laramie brand.
