On ‘Yer Bike
Two ArvinMeritor LVA employees are taking up the BEN Centenary Aftermarket Challenge, as they attempt to cycle the full length of the country, from Lands End to John O’Groats. The money raised will go towards supporting auto industry employees and their dependents who find themselves in need of help.
Steve McCann, sales and marketing director and Damian Marley, cataloguing manager, will attempt the 1000+ mile journey starting on 12th July. The journey is scheduled to last 12 days and the pair will clock up 100 miles each day, stopping off at the BEN residential centres and ArvinMeritor production sites on the way.
Their arrival at the ArvinMeritor R&D, manufacture and distribution site at Cheadle, Staffordshire on 16 July, will coincide with a Family Fun Day, where again, all proceeds will go to the BEN charity.
Mr McCann commented: “The main aim is to raise a significant amount of money. The charity cares for over 350 residents who have all contributed a great deal to this industry. It’s reassuring to know that when someone needs help, BEN is there to give it.”
