Michelin Adds to X One Line
(Akron/Tire Review) Michelin North America (MNA) has added the Michelin X One XDA-HT Plus drive tyre to its X One line of wide singles being offered by Michelin Americas Truck Tires.
The new product, the sixth addition to the X One line first introduced in 2000, replaces the current X One XDA-HT, MNA said. The new X One XDA-HT Plus features longer original tread life due to its increased tread depth (2/32 inches) and wider tread. It also offers improved wet traction through “optimised tread block distribution and 1 mm wider groove bottoms,” said MNA. According to the manufacturer, the tyre’s new block shape with tapered groove walls reduces stone retention, and features “optimised harmonic pitch frequency.” In addition the new product uses MNA’s “Co-Ex dual compound” and “Infincoil” technologies.
In related news, MNA also announced it is offering fleets and owner operators a $400 incentive to switch the tyres on their tractors or trailers to X One tyres. Mr Laferriere said X One tyres offer weight savings of 770 pounds per tractor/trailer combination, fuel savings and reduced maintenance, among other benefits.
