GEA Annual Dinner A Success
The Garage Equipment Association has reported that this year’s annual dinner was once again a success, with ticket sales continuing right up to the eleventh hour. The association’s new chief executive, Dave Garratt, welcomed guests. Mr Garratt’s predecessor, John Nelson, who unfortunately could not attend the dinner delivered a message via video, having been presented with a silver platter by Nevelle Marchant in honour of his service to the association.
Gus Gregory, acting president for the evening, delivered a short history of the 60 year old association that is growing steadily year on year. The GEA website had over 147,000 ‘hits’ last month, a current record, indicating the growing reliance in the industry on the Association and the services it provides. Entertainment included former Queens Park Rangers player, Rodney Marsh, and Adrian Walsh.
Dave Garratt commented: “We were delighted to welcome our members and their guests to this marvellous evening. Tickets were in high demand and a substantial amount of money was raised for BEN by the generosity of everyone. We hope that next year’s dinner will be every bit as successful and look forward to our members’ continued support.”
