BACRT’s Bohm Plans Retirement
(Akron/Tire Review) Dr Georg Bohm, vice president of research for Bridgestone Americas’ Centre for Research and Technology (BACRT) has announced plans to retire as of 1 May. Dr Hiroshi Mouri, BACRT president, will assume Dr Bohm’s responsibilities at BACRT.
Dr Bohm joined Radiation Processing Inc in 1967 as a group leader after earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a PhD in physics from the University of Vienna. He relocated to Akron in 1972 as an assistant director in Firestone’s research centre. During his almost 38 year tenure with the company, Dr Bohm has served in an array of management roles in the company’s R&D operation.
“While I personally will miss our day-to-day interactions, we are all extremely pleased that Georg has agreed to serve BACRT on a consulting basis, giving us the benefit of his leadership and insight for the next two years,” said Dr Hiroshi Mouri.
