Cooper Launches Discoverer ATR

(Akron/Tire Review) Cooper Tire & Rubber Co has introduced the Cooper Discoverer ATR, a new line of light truck/SUV radials that the company says “offers uncompromising on and off-road performance, going beyond ordinary all-terrain tyres.”

The new tyre features a “cutting-edge tread design made up of a rugged five rib all-terrain tread pattern that extends over the shoulders to enhance off-road traction.” With wide sawtooth circumferential grooves and lateral grooves to “provide a solid all-terrain performance advantage and enhanced all-weather traction.”

The Discoverer ATR will be available with both blackwall and raised white lettering, and will have either an R or S speed rating, depending on the size. Cooper said the new tyre, which comes with a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty, will be available in 50 SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) covering a range of 14 to 17-inch sizes, and the “industry’s only 20-inch outline white letter wheel diameter size.”
