Bridgestone Denies It is Upset With Ferrari
(Akron/Tire Review) Speculation that Bridgestone is “unhappy” with its Formula 1 partner Ferrari is “totally untrue,” according to Adrian Atkinson, Bridgestone’s F1 media delegate.
Italian media reports had stated that Bridgestone had asked for Michael Schumacher or Rubens Barrichello to participate in the development of its new custom-built tyre. Instead, Luca Badoer and Marc Gene participated in the testing on the lead drivers’ behalf, since Schumacher and Barrichello were not available, according to reports.
“We are happy with the feedback we receive from Ferrari’s three test drivers,” commented Atkinson. “Of course we welcome confirmation from the race drivers, but Ferrari’s testing plans are an issue for the team.”
