BFNAT and Bandag Continue Cooperation
(Akron/Tire Review) Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire (BFNAT) and truck leasing giant Ryder System Inc have extended their agreement in which BFNAT supplies new medium truck radials to Ryder and Bandag Inc provides retreading services. The agreement began in 1990, according to BFNAT.
“This contract extension is a result of a strong partnership that combines best practices to create a more streamlined, efficient and successful way of doing business,” said Timothy Fiore, Ryder’s senior vice president and chief procurement officer. “We look forward to an ongoing relationship with Bridgestone/Firestone and Bandag that will continue to drive new efficiencies throughout our fleet.”

BFNAT dealers and Bandag retreaders provide Ryder facilities with just-in-time inventory, tyre maintenance, wheel maintenance, retreading and emergency road services. Since 1990, Ryder has purchased over 4.9 million OE and replacement tires, nearly 1,000 new Bridgestone brand each day, according to BFNAT.
