Airgo-Lift Prevents Manual Handling

Hofmann Megaplan has introduced the new ‘Airgo-Lift’ a wheel lifter for assisting tyre technicians with heavy wheel assemblies.

Operated by air the machine fits under the shaft of a balancer and can raise wheels up to 70kg in weight. It can also move the wheel horizontally over the shaft to allow easy location of studs when flange plate mounting.

“The obvious trigger for our introduction of the Airgo-Lift is heavy 4×4 rims, which easily outweigh the Manual Handling legislation for one man lifting”, commented Hofmann Megaplan’s James Boon. “And because those wheels require mounting by the stud holes for a true balance, this product really does make life easier for location of the pins and locking up the Wingnut. Apart from anything else, even if employees are lifting these wheels at the moment without complaint, can the employer really afford to take the risk of a law suit in this day and age?”
