NTDA to Focus on Females
The NTDA has organised a series of focus groups, involving around 70 volunteers, designed to assess the needs of women in the tyre market. Women account for a growing proportion of the tyre buying public, with some estimates showing that they represent a third of all retail tyre purchases.
NTDA director Richard Edy commented: “We hope that the result of these focus groups will provide us with useful information to share with members and also advice for them to act upon, should they need to, to improve their service to women motorists. The project’s objective is to identify the attitudes of female motorists when coming into contact with tyre retailers and how do they feel about the whole tyre purchasing experience, whether positive or negative.”
The research project, which came out of the NTDA conference in Marbella and is sponsored by Continental Tyre and National Tyres and Autocare. The association says the results will be ready in time for a detailed report at the Brityrex conference follow-on event.
