Bridgestone Thailand Sales Up 10 per cent
Bridgestone Thailand MD, Tomohiko Yoshimoto, is predicting his company’s truck and bus tyre sales will grow at least 10 per cent, Thailand’s Bangkok post has reported.
According to the newspaper, Bridgestone sells an average of around 20,000 truck and bus tyres per month, representing half of the total market for the segment. In order to combat increasing competition, the company is introducing a Bridgestone truck tyre centre project to upgrade its truck and bus tyres sales and services.
The first centres will be set up in 10 provinces and will sell truck and bus tyres and provide maintenance and inspection services. Mr Yoshimoto said the centres were essential because truck and bus tyres required specialist attention due to the heavy-duty usage they encounter.
Winij Prungpanich, product planning and sales manager, said similar centres would also be established this year in other countries including China, Malaysia, Indonesia and some countries in Africa and the Middle East. In Thailand, the centres will eventually provide 24-hour services, the newspaper reports.
