Sibur Discusses Future with Dealers
Russian tyre company, Sibur, has conducted a conference for its dealers in which to discuss the future development strategy of the business and to form a plan to increase the effectiveness of the regional commercial partners.
The company directors gave a presentation on the current state of the business, emphasising that an increase in the effectiveness of the tyre business is the company’s top priority. The company has already initiated a new development strategy for the tyre business in April last year, in order to improve the quality of production and to meet the requirements of today’s market.
The new programme resulted in the removal of obsolete and unprofitable models of tyres. Measures to regulate the delivery of raw materials have also been put into place. The quantity of suppliers will be reduced, so that the company can strengthen its control over the quality of materials.
Additionally, the company’s four plants will benefit from further specialisation in production. Yaroslavl will concentrate on truck, passenger car and aircraft tyres and Omskshina on radial cargo and passenger car tyres. Voltayr will focus on agricultural tyres with an increase in the production of radial models and Uralshina will now specialise in winter passenger and industrial tyres.
A united information centre will also be created to collect feedback from all four tyre plants. The company believes that the information centre will become a “powerful tool for its own objective evaluation of the quality of production.”
Sibur has also announced on going negotiations that may result in the Voltayr factory producing agricultural tyres for Czech brand Mitas.
Financial investments of $300 million, are expected to be injected into the company for the purchase of new equipment and the modernisation of tyre production.
