Michelin Development Fund Reaches New Heights
Three more Dundee firms have been given a cash injection from the Michelin Development Fund, pushing the total loaned to local businesses beyond £100,000. IRT, MW Plastics and Team Play Learning Dynamics (TPLD) shared a total of £68,000, which will help company development, performance and enhance long-term profitability. Working in association with Scottish Enterprise Tayside, Business Gateway, Dundee City Council’s economic development unit and The Royal Bank of Scotland, Michelin Development aims to effectively contribute to the economic regeneration and long-term prosperity of the different regions where Michelin has sites within the UK. Michelin Development Dundee’s core aims are to encourage skills and entrepreneurship able to support the long term future of the city. There is also a drive to attract inward investment and contribute towards the creation of sustainable, quality employment growth.
“The announcement of business development and job creation is always welcome news, and I’m sure this will be a welcome boost for three ambitious local firms. SE Tayside is pleased to be associated with Michelin Development Dundee and it is to be hoped many more local companies will benefit from similar backing in the future,” commented Clive Palmer, Scottish Enterprise Tayside’s Director of Business Growth. Simon Goring, Business Development Manager with Michelin Development Dundee said: “To date, we have lent out in excess of £100,000 to five Dundee-based companies. We consider it one of our responsibilities to assist in the economic development of the regions in which we are located, helping whenever possible to encourage the creation of jobs outside our company.” Michelin Development offers low interest loans and business advice to companies in the Dundee area and applications for support in this way are welcomed.
