New year New Price Increases
Continental Tire North America has announced that it will raise prices of its commercial and off-the-road tyres, from the 1 January 2005, as a result of rising raw material and other costs.
The increase, which will be between three and six per cent will affect all of its truck and off-road brands including Continental, General and Semperit.
Three other tyre manufacturers have also recently announced price increases effective between December and January. Yokohama Tire and Pirelli are each to raise prices between three and five per cent in December.
Yokohama’s decision will affcet commercial and off road tyres and is effective 31 December. Pirelli’s increase, will affect pricing in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, and covers all of the company’s consumer, motorcycle and heavy truck tyre brands.
Hankook Tire America is also raising its tyre prices by three to five per cent, as of 1 January. The price increase applies to Hankook’s full line of passenger, high performance, light truck and medium truck tyres.
