New Balancing Concept

Hofmann Megaplan’s new Ride Management System has been installed at Jeff Fowkes Wheels, Leicestershire. The RMS package consists of the Megaspin 800 wheel balancer and Haweka Premier adaptor system, with the added feature of run-out measurement built into the balancer.

This combination of equipment will now enable Jeff Fowkes to offer more than just a balancing procedure, with data such as rim/tyre harmonics and conicity being measured by sonar and displayed via the monitor of the wheel balancer.

According to Hofmann Megaplan the RMS is the “logical next step for anybody wanting to be perceived as a specialist tyre shop.” The additional diagnostic capability allows wheels to be balanced to a finer degree of accuracy using OEM recommended mounting procedures, optimised to reduce static imbalance to a bare minimum. Weights can also be hidden behind the spokes, and then fitted to the most suitable corner of the vehicle.
