Japan’s ‘best import’ car for 2004
The Maserati Quattroporte has won the “2004 Import Car of the Year” award, from the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame Association (JAHFA). It achieved the award on its brand image, style, craftsmanship, value for money and for being the “ultimate choice for the car connoisseur.”
This latest title is one of many international awards received by the model this year. Other achievements include the Red Dot Design Award, the Best Luxury Car in Show, and the Best Imported “Luxury Sedan” title, given by German magazine Auto Motor und Sport.
Quattroporte was first unveiled in Japan on 22 October 2003 at the International Motor Show in Tokyo, and then exhibited two days later at the Italian Embassy in the presence of Ferrari Maserati group president, Luca di Montezemolo and the Ambassador Mario Bova.
Since going on sale in April, more than 250 Quattroporte have been sold in Japan and there is now a waiting list of several months for new cars.
