Women Rewarded in Transport Awards
Iveco’s third annual Women in Transport Awards has recognised the achievements of three women working in the UK road transport industry.
The awards, held in conjunction with the Road Haulage Association (RHA) were held on 6 October and covered three categories; operational, administrative and owner operator excellence.
Those honoured at this year’s ceremony included Dee Parsons, national transport support manager for Sainsbury’s Supply Chain in Rugby, who won the administrative award. Kim Duncalf, a driver for Edwards Logistics, took the operational award and the owner operator award went to Mandi Kirby, of Gary Cannon Transport.
Chris Thorneycroft-Smith, director of Iveco’s truck and van business units, presented the awards: “There are many groups of people within the road transport industry who play a vital role in keeping the wheels of our industry moving, and we are here today to recognise one particular group – women.
“Since this award scheme was set up three years ago we have discovered that there are many women out there playing an important part in moving those wheels. From Managing Directors, Transport Managers, and Warehouse Operatives to drivers of a whole range of different sized commercial vehicles,” he added.
