Tyre Manufacturers Form New Federation
The BRMA and ITMA have joined together to set up a new federal body to represent the interests of both associations’ tyre manufacturing members. The new Tyre Industry Federation will come into force as of 1 January 2005 and will take the form of a limited company. The BRMA are describing the union as “formalising the already close working relationship that already exists between them.”
Chairman of the tyre manufacturers’ division of BRMA, Brian Smith, commented: “The members of the two associations already have much in common and it makes sense to work even more closely together wherever we can. The new body will provide a strong framework within which we can pursue our mutual interests and address a wide range of issues common to us all. We hope that the formation of this new Federation will represent the beginning of a move towards ever closer cooperation between the various sectors of the tyre industry.”
