Automechanika a Success for British Automotive Suppliers
The SMMT is describing Automechanika 2004 as “another success for British exhibitors. The SMMT accompanied a 70-strong group of delegates to the exhibition, as a way of help them find new business. One British exhibitor who won orders worth £20,000 and expects up to £250,000 in repeat business said: “It was the best exhibition result we have ever had.” Another UK firm reported: “over 50 firm business leads to follow up” and closed a deal worth some £300,000.
According to SMMT members, having so many customers in one area worked well for exhibitors, however, some felt that the event ran for too long. One exhibitor commented: “Why can’t the organisers learn from other events and keep Automechanika to four business days?”
