AutoExCeL is Axed

Aftermarket exhibition AutoExCeL 2005 has been cancelled. The show, scheduled to run at London’s Docklands next April does not give clear reasons for cancelling the event, and has said: “Having failed to persuade our fellow organisers to agree a rationalised event calendar, we have decided, with great reluctance and disappointment to cancel AutoExCeL 2005.”

With the cancellation of AutoExCeL, the event’s former director, Richard Abels will be leaving the show’s organisers London EventCo.

Mr Abels commented: “London EventCo, AutoExCeL’s organisers, do not feel comfortable watching those participating deploy valuable resources while we become increasingly unsure of our ability to deliver a first class event in the current market environment.”

The show intended to “unite the aftermarket” and to attract manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, repairers, retailers and installers. Despite its cancellation Mr Abels claims that the show had “a most impressive list of participants.”
