New COO at Stapletons
Stapletons (Tyre Services) Limited has announced the appointment of a new chief operating officer.
The news comes after the Stapletons board announced that Mike England will be standing down as managing director, with immediate effect. As a result Alan Denton, formerly the company’s operations director, has been promoted to chief operating officer. Mr Denton will begin the job immediately. The reasons behind Mr England’s move and whether or not he tendered he resignation remain unclear.
Grateful for Mr Denton’s major contribution to the group, Kenji Murai, vice chairman, said: “During the last four years, as retail director and then managing director, Mike has played an important role in the transformation of our retail business as well as the overall success of the company. He leaves us with our best wishes.”
Mr Murai continued: “I have every confidence in the ability of Alan Denton and his senior executive team to successfully guide the future fortunes of Stapletons. We have a clear strategy for the forthcoming years to become a customer-led organisation and develop all sectors of our business. In particular, we are determined to further improve our already significant retail operation. Alan has demonstrated his capabilities and leadership qualities in all previous roles and will provide the strategic guidance required.”
