Group Tyre Team Win Michelin F1 Pitstop Challenge

A team made up of tyre fitters from Elite Garages of Horsham and Broadway Tyres of High Wycombe demonstrated their high speed skills by winning Michelin F1 Pitstop Challenge at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Led by Elite managing director, Richard Wittemore, the Group Tyre team changed all four wheels of a Formula 300 car in 7.58 seconds. The team also beat Porsche OC in a head-to-head challenge. “To record a sub eight second time is an absolutely phenomenal achievement,” said Mr Whittemore, impressed with his team’s performance.

For the two dealerships that made up the team, speed is an important part of business. “Customers are rightly demanding speed in meeting their tyre needs and the Goodwood victory demonstrated our total commitment,” said Group Tyre (UK) chairman, John Church. Reffering to his team’s success Richard Whittemore added: “Customers have always expected us to get them back on the road fast, so maybe we shouldn’t have been surprised!”
