Goodyear’s ‘Unique’ HydraGrip Promotion
Taking what the company describes as a “brand new approach,” Goodyear commissioned the UK’s first HydraZorbs to mark the launch of its HydraGrip tyre. HyrdraZorbs are large inflatable balls which participants climb inside and propel themselves across water.
Regional events were held across the country over the summer in London, Glasgow, Manchester, Poole, Cardiff and Birmingham. At these locations Goodyear teamed up with the Royal National Lifeboat Institute using the sport to raise awareness of safety in the wet and on the water, as well as raising money for the charity.
The campaign was used to educate people on how to enjoy themselves safely in the water in the same way that Goodyear’s HydraGrip tyre is designed to increase the enjoyment of driving by making motorists feel as comfortable in wet weather conditions as they do in the dry.
Lisa Faulkner, brand manager for Goodyear commented: “I’m delighted with the interest generated this summer for HydraGrip. We wanted to use a completely unique approach for promoting the tyre.”
