Goodyear Dunlop Managers to Job Swap
Goodyear Dunlop Europe has appointed Dick Johnson as general manager of Goodyear Dunlop UK, the company has announced.
When he starts his new role on 1 October, Dick Johnson, who is currently managing director of the company’s Slovenia operations, will be based at Goodyear’s Birmingham offices. In what is almost literally a ‘job-swap,’ Mr Johnson will exchange positions with Andreas Niegsch who was appointed in December 2002. Mr Niegsch will take over from Dick Johnson in Slovenia.
When he begins his new role in the UK, Johnson will report to Mike Roney, president of Goodyear Dunlop Europe, and to Arthur de Bok, vice president of consumer tyres, European Union.
“Andreas has done an excellent job in building a completely new team in the UK, putting much more focus on our external marketing activities and customer relationships. Dick will bring his extensive operational experience in various countries to take us forward,” said Mr Roney.
Dick Johnson joined Goodyear in 1965 where he was promoted through several increasingly senior financial positions in the United States and Latin America. In 1986 he was appointed finance director, Latin America before becoming finance director, Europe in 1993. In 1998 he was appointed managing director, Sava Tires, after the company’s joint venture with Sava was established.
