‘One-stop’ shopping for Goodyear Customers

Goodyear Dunlop Europe has been selected to supply replacement tyres for Volvo’s European truck tyre business through its chain of close to 1,000 truck dealers and workshops. According to Henry Johnson, managing director of Goodyear Dunlop’s European truck tyre business, Volvo customers will have the option to benefit from the one-stop shopping approach.

Johnson said: “Normally, truck operators experience downtime when their vehicles undergo scheduled services, only to have to visit tyre dealers later for tyre replacements or maintenance. By supplying tyres directly to Volvo dealers, operators will be able to reduce downtime, thereby improving cost and operating efficiency in a one-stop shopping experience. “Johnson added that Goodyear Dunlop was chosen because of the company’s geographic coverage across Europe, comprehensive product range, service and delivery capability. The supply agreement with Volvo Truck is another step in Goodyear Dunlop’s relationship with Volvo. In December 2003 Goodyear announced that it would become a major global original equipment supplier for Volvo Trucks three major brands, Volvo, Renault and Mack. Goodyear Dunlop’s primary truck tyre manufacturing locations in Europe are in Colmar Berg, Luxembourg and at Wittlich in Germany.
