Nokian Announces Record Figures Too
Finnish tyre manufacturer, Nokian, has announced that it increased its turnover to 250.8 million euros (£166 million) in the first half of 2004. Compared with the first half of 2003 this represents a 19 per cent improvement.
The company’s operating profit in the first half of this year totalled 29.5 million euros, compared with 16.7 million euros at the same time last year. In particular, the company had 50 per cent growth in Russia as well as in America where the company works on a small scale. Nokian’s net profit shot up to 28.6 million euro, while a year ago it was only 12.8 million euro.
The second half of the year is traditionally of much more importance to Nokian than the first, so bearing the recent positive results in mind, the company definitely looks like it is on its way for an impressive new record.
