Continental makes Rainer Strang responsible for ‘Public Relations Tyres’
Rainer Strang has been appointed to strengthen the PR team of the Continental AG’s two tyre divisions. He will is expected to begin his new position on 1 October, but will definitely start by 1 November 2004. Mr Strang succeeds Markus Burgdorf, who left the company in spring in order to work independently of the company. “I am looking forward to the vocational challenges in one of the most successful automotive industry suppliers in the world,“ comments Strang on his move to Hanover.
Continental’s new PR manager began his career as an editor of Germany’s “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung“ daily newspaper in Essen. Later Mr Strang moved to Duesseldorf to work for “Rheinische Post.” In this role Mr Strang was, amongst other things, responsible for the “Technic and Traffic,” the newspaper’s motoring and technology section.
Later Mr Strang gained PR experience working as information and communications manager for Adam Opel AG in Ruesselsheim, “press chief” at Ford Werke AG in Cologne communications leader of TUEV Rhineland Group, also in Cologne. For nearly ten years Rainer Strang was editor-in-chief of the “TUEV Auto-Report.” Along with his “Scriptum” editorial office, Mr Strang has particularly been responsible for medium size companies, beyond that he has worked as moderator and contributor for the economics department of the Deutschlandfunk.
